About Us
Welcome/Fáilte
We, the committee are delighted to bring you the 2025 show.
Castlegregory Agricultural Show has its roots in the traditional fair day and show which was revived in 2018 after many years absence. This was traditionally held on the Forge Road and quickly became a popular event for locals and visitors alike. Due to its success, and to facilitate expansion of the program, the show is now held at the west end of the village. The new showgrounds are named in honour their previous owner, Billy Bowler.
2024 also saw Castlegregory Agri-Show become affiliated with the ISA. The Irish Shows Association (ISA) is the official body representing Irish Agricultural Shows on the island of Ireland. The ISA is a collective representative organisation which has more than 130 member shows which run throughout the summer each year. Castlegregory Agricultural Show is proud to take its place on the national showing calendar.
Castlegregory is a village on the north side of the Dingle peninsula in Co. Kerry. Nowadays a popular location for holidaying and water sports, the village and surrounds also still maintains its long-standing heritage of root vegetable production (the adjacent Maharees was once renown for onion production with its sandy soil), horse and pony breeding, cattle and sheep rearing and lobster and salmon fishing.
Set on the wild Atlantic coast of the Dingle Penninsula, with a hinterland of glacial landscape, mountains, and forestry, Casllegregory has become a haven for creative people from all over the world. In recent years the wider community have embraced sustainable living in practice. Several of the Agri show committee are also involved in projects such as circular economy, energy transition, conservation, regenerative food production and habitat conservation in the area. The committee sees Castlegregory Agri show as a platform to showcase and support, alongside the more traditional exhibits, new projects, and initiatives of these type.
The Show Committee would like to thank Colleen Bowler, Jackie Bowler & Aidan O’ Connor for making the showgrounds available. Kerry County Council for the funding support. Our local business community for their generous sponsorship and to all those who responded to the various requests for help from the committee throughout the year. Thanks to everyone including participants, vendors and visitors for helping to make the event a reality.
Finally, we express our gratitude to the ‘Department of Rural and Community Development’ for the significant funding commitment, without which the event would not have been possible.
We really hope you enjoy the Show!
